Solar Cable & Connector Selection: Match the Connection to the Job
Share
Choose a solar connection accessory by the job it needs to do: route a cable through an opening, match a power station input, add an inline fuse connection, or mount an SAE port. Then check the exact connectors, polarity, electrical requirements and installation space. Panel wattage or a familiar-looking plug alone cannot confirm fit.
Compare the five connection options
The products below are sold separately. The listed specifications identify each item; they do not establish that every item can be combined in one installation.
Route a cable through a window or balcony opening
2PCS 50 cm Flat Solar PV Cable Feedthrough for Windows or Balconies, 2.5 mm²
- 2PCS; 50 cm each; 2.5 mm²; male-to-female solar connectors
- Check: Window or door clearance, connector fit and the electrical requirements of the complete route.
Connect a panel to a matching power station input
1 m 4-in-1 Solar Charging Adapter Cable, 16AWG, XT60 / DC7909 / DC5521 / Anderson-Type
- LH-6281; 1 m; listed 16AWG; XT60, DC7909, DC5521 and Anderson-type options
- Check: The exact input connector, polarity, permitted panel voltage and current. Four plugs do not establish universal compatibility.
Add a 15A inline fuse connection
15A Inline Solar PV Fuse Holders with Male and Female Connectors, 5PCS
- LH0078; 15A; 5 holders; male and female solar connectors
- Check: The required fuse rating, circuit voltage, mating connector and installation conditions.
Add a 20A inline fuse connection
20A Inline Solar PV Fuse Holders with Male and Female Connectors, 5PCS
- LH0079; 20A; 5PCS; male and female solar connectors
- Check: The required fuse rating, circuit voltage, mating connector and installation conditions.
Fit an SAE port to a suitable mounting surface
0.3 m SAE 2-Pin Sidewall Power Port Cable, 12AWG, with 4 Mounting Screws
- 0.3 m; SAE 2-pin; listed 12AWG; one cable assembly and four screws
- Check: Polarity at both ends, mounting dimensions, panel thickness and rear clearance.

What to check before choosing a cable or adapter
- Identify both connection points. Use equipment model numbers, port labels and clear photos of both mating parts. Check connector dimensions and locking features rather than relying on a product-family name.
- Check polarity and input limits. Refer to the panel, controller or power station documentation for its permitted input voltage, current and connection arrangement. A matching plug shape is only one part of the check.
- Measure the complete cable route. Check the actual path and space for connector bodies and cable bends. For a feedthrough, also check how the window or door closes at the planned location.
- Compare the exact cable specification. This range includes a 2.5 mm² flat feedthrough, a listed 16AWG charging adapter and a listed 12AWG SAE port cable. Check each item against the requirements of its own installation; the wire-size label alone is not a current or power rating for the complete assembly.
15A or 20A: how to compare the fuse holders
LH0078 is the 15A option and LH0079 is the 20A option. Both are five-piece listings with male and female solar connectors. Select the rating required by the equipment documentation and circuit design, and verify the exact holder and fuse requirements before ordering. A higher ampere number does not by itself make one option suitable for your circuit.
Three common selection questions
Does 2PCS mean two pairs?
For LH-7011, 2PCS means two individual 50 cm feedthroughs. It does not mean four cables. The confirmed conductor cross-sectional area for this listing is 2.5 mm².
Does a 4-in-1 adapter fit every power station?
Check the exact input and its polarity, voltage and current requirements. LH-6281 lists four connector options; these are not a promise of universal compatibility or simultaneous charging of four devices.
Is an SAE plug shape enough to confirm a connection?
Check polarity at both ends as well as the mating connector and mounting fit. The sidewall port listing also needs sufficient space behind the mounting surface.
Get help identifying your connection
Send Leehitech your connector photos and equipment model, together with port labels, required cable length, quantity and destination. For a window route, include the opening and closing clearance; for a fuse connection, include the required rating from the equipment documentation.
